1953 Born in Hanover. 1973–1980 Painting, Art History and Philosophy studies at Berlin University of the Arts and Freie Universität Berlin. Since 1981 Work with performance, photography, painting and drawing. 1980–1990 Teacher at Berlin University of the Arts, Braunschweig University of Art and Leuphana University of Lüneburg. 1988 Interim professor at Muthesius University in Kiel. 1992–1994 Guest professor at Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. 1994–2018 Professor at BURG, Art Faculty. Solo exhibitions at Sprengel Museum Hanover, Neuer Berliner Kunstverein, Fassbender Gallery, Chicago/USA, Märkisches Museum, Berlin; Museum Abtei Liesborn, Kunstverein Leipzig, Städtische Galerie Wolfsburg, Kunstmuseum Moritzburg Halle (Saale), etc. 2018 retirement from university teaching.
