For the 5th time the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź in cooperation with KAUS Urbino has the pleasure of inviting artists and art enthusiasts to participate in the International Summer Courses Printmaking and Textile Art PATA 2017. Four previous editions brought to Łódź artists from all over the world. As in the past, also this year the course offer is addressed to both beginners and experienced artists.
Our special guests and course leaders in fisrt session of PATA 2017 (18-30 July, 2017) include Renata Papista from the University of Sarajevo who specializes in spatial graphic art and Daniela Krystyna Jałkiewicz who realizes installations which combine elements of sculpture and textile art. They will guide and support participants in realizing their individual artistic projects. The special guest of the second session of PATA (8-20 August, 2017) will be Master Hiromi Inayoshi, world famous graphic designer from Tokyo, who will run a course of graphic design – personal logo, poster and artistic book.
The programme of PATA 2017 also includes printmaking courses (relief and intaglio techniques as well as linocut, etching, aquatint, lithography, silk-screen) and textile art courses (innovative interior object, textile print). The programme is enriched by interdisciplinary courses. This year these include a graphic design course – newspaper, zine and book art and a course of comics and game and film pre-production. For the first time this year the Footwear and Leather Accessories Design Studio offers a course on accessories in the fashion world.
Both, July and August sessions will be a time of extremely intensive work. During the two weeks spent in Łódź participants will realize 90 working hours. All activities will be held in the well-equipped studios under the guidance of professional artists - outstanding academic teachers of the Łódź Academy. Participants will have an opportunity to present the final results of their work during the exhibition organised at the end of the course.
All PATA participants will receive a certificate of completion and a document confirming the learning outcomes which entitle them to 3 ECTS points recognized by both academic and professional circles.
PATA is also a meeting place which allows to exchange artistic experience within the international community of participants and course leaders. Small groups foster creating strong bonds, especially on the line master – student.
