Davon stammen rund 60 Prozent aus Kohlekraftwerken. Dort f\u00e4llt er als Nebenprodukt bei der Stromerzeugung an: als sogenannter Rauchgasentschwefelungsgips oder REA-Gips. Mit dem Kohleausstieg bis 2038 wird diese Ressource fast vollst\u00e4ndig versiegen.<\/p><p class=\\\"_FT\\\">Das wirft die Frage auf, wie Szenarien f\u00fcr alternative Methoden der Gewinnung, Zusammensetzung, Verarbeitung, des Recyclings und der Logistik dieses Materials aussehen k\u00f6nnten. Das Projekt nutzt mathematische Modelle, um das aktuelle Materialsystem Gips zu analysieren. Daraus werden spekulative Konzepte f\u00fcr die Gestaltung zuk\u00fcnftiger Rohstoffquellen sowie deren Materialeigenschaften und soziotechnische Infrastruktur entwickelt.<\/p><p class=\\\"_FT\\\">Das Projekt bringt Ans\u00e4tze aus den Disziplinen Geo\u00f6kologie, Ingenieurwissenschaften und Design Fiction zusammen. Das Modell zeigt die umgesetzte Menge des Materials von der Gewinnung (links) \u00fcber den Transport, die Herstellung von Gipsprodukten sowie die Verwendung bis hin zum letztendlichen Verbleib zum Beispiel auf einer Deponie (rechts). Anstatt Gips k\u00e4men Lehmbaustoffe zum Einsatz, denen geeignete Stabilisatoren zugegeben w\u00fcrden. Als Inspiration f\u00fcr die Fertigung bedienen wir uns in der Natur: Der westliche Felsenkleiber <em>(Sitta neumayer),<\/em> ein Vogel aus S\u00fcdosteuropa, verwendet Lehm in Kombination mit dem Chitin und Eiwei\u00df von Insekten, um sein Nest zu verst\u00e4rken. Diese beiden nat\u00fcrlichen Bindemittel k\u00f6nnten auch f\u00fcr die Trockenbauplatten aus Lehm als Zugabe dienen und das Problem der geringeren Bruchfestigkeit l\u00f6sen.<span Der kommunale Betrieb, f\u00fcr den er gearbeitet hat, war damals das einzige Unternehmen, das so etwas gemacht hat. \u201eWir waren ehrlich gesagt erstmal ziemlich \u00fcberfordert mit diesem neuen Verfahren. Aber vor allem waren wir es nicht gewohnt, so zu denken, als w\u00e4ren wir ein Produktionsbetrieb. Wir waren ja damals urspr\u00fcnglich nur daf\u00fcr zust\u00e4ndig, das Abwasser unserer St\u00e4dte zu beseitigen. Wir hatten keine Ahnung davon, wie man Rohstoffe produziert und wie man die an die richtige Adresse bringt. Schlie\u00dflich haben wir den Laden so ausgebaut, dass wir in den 2030er bis 2040er Jahren quasi das erste Unternehmen waren, das die Entsorgung und die Produktion zusammengebracht hat. Davon stammen rund 60 Prozent aus Kohlekraftwerken. Dort f\u00e4llt er als Nebenprodukt bei der Stromerzeugung an: als sogenannter Rauchgasentschwefelungsgips oder REA-Gips. Mit dem Kohleausstieg bis 2038 wird diese Ressource fast vollst\u00e4ndig versiegen.<\/p><p class=\\\"_FT\\\">Das wirft die Frage auf, wie Szenarien f\u00fcr alternative Methoden der Gewinnung, Zusammensetzung, Verarbeitung, des Recyclings und der Logistik dieses Materials aussehen k\u00f6nnten. Das Projekt nutzt mathematische Modelle, um das aktuelle Materialsystem Gips zu analysieren. Daraus werden spekulative Konzepte f\u00fcr die Gestaltung zuk\u00fcnftiger Rohstoffquellen sowie deren Materialeigenschaften und soziotechnische Infrastruktur entwickelt.<\/p><p class=\\\"_FT\\\">Das Projekt bringt Ans\u00e4tze aus den Disziplinen Geo\u00f6kologie, Ingenieurwissenschaften und Design Fiction zusammen. Er denkt gern zur\u00fcck an damals: 2022 hat er angefangen, Gips und Phosphor aus dem Abwasser bzw. aus dem Kl\u00e4rschlamm zu extrahieren. Der kommunale Betrieb, f\u00fcr den er gearbeitet hat, war damals das einzige Unternehmen, das so etwas gemacht hat. \u201eWir waren ehrlich gesagt erstmal ziemlich \u00fcberfordert mit diesem neuen Verfahren. Aber vor allem waren wir es nicht gewohnt, so zu denken, als w\u00e4ren wir ein Produktionsbetrieb. Wir waren ja damals urspr\u00fcnglich nur daf\u00fcr zust\u00e4ndig, das Abwasser unserer St\u00e4dte zu beseitigen. Wir hatten keine Ahnung davon, wie man Rohstoffe produziert und wie man die an die richtige Adresse bringt. Schlie\u00dflich haben wir den Laden so ausgebaut, dass wir in den 2030er bis 2040er Jahren quasi das erste Unternehmen waren, das die Entsorgung und die Produktion zusammengebracht hat. R\u00e4umlich, technisch und irgendwie auch kulturell. Das war ein tolles Gef\u00fchl.
