CLOUDIA<\/p>

CLOUDIA was developed as part of the semester project From Fun 2 Function<\/i>, a project in which we explored CNC manufacturing processes in depth. Our starting point was the investigation of so-called parametric waffle structures<\/i>\u2014 constructions where individual components are connected through precise cuts, forming stable structures without the need for screws or glue.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

After numerous experiments with CNC machines, including laser cutting, waterjet cutting, and milling, we became particularly interested in combining opposites: hard, precise wooden structures meeting soft, organic forms. This led to the idea of creating a seating object that combines a CNC-milled wooden frame with inflatable seat cushions.<\/p>

The multiplex frame forms a stable, curved structure into which translucent TPU cushions are inserted. These cushions were CNC-welded and inflated to create soft padding that adds comfort and lightness to the construction.<\/p>
