In my master thesis, I examined the presence of an aggravated feeling of fear in the Syrian society. I explored the reasons why this feeling arose in that oppressed society, and went on to track down the sources of that feeling in the daily lives of the Syrian people, both within the subculture of everyday language they use and in the arts they created to maintain their sense of expression and freedom. I made a variety of textiles that touch on that fear culture and the notorious political prisons in my home country. They also carry a sense of hope and resistance to an old system of oppression and tyranny.
