methods and the rapidly\ngrowing world population, this precious material will be a scarce commodity in\nthe future. Time to rethink! <br>\nMany aspects of today&#8217;s food production are also more than problematic: Whether\nenvironmental pollution through waste and long transport routes, food waste or\nfactory farming &#8211; mankind is trampling on the foundations of its existence.\nToday&#8217;s production and consumption patterns are also often harmful to their own\nhealth. Synthetic biology offers the chance to solve the entire problems of\nfood production and revolutionizes not only our eating and cooking habits but\nalso the entire food industry. <br>\nIn the future, living beings that are specially tailored to human needs,\nprogrammed and designed in a completely new way will produce our food &#8211; in an\nenvironmentally friendly, space-saving way and without animal suffering or\ndeath. <br>\nThe living plant as well as animal food factories offer an inexhaustible and\nvaried range of food &#8211; directly from our own kitchens: thanks to their special\ngenetic characteristics, they simply allow the parts harvested by the consumer\nto grow again and again. <br>\nNew types of plants floating on the surface of the water thus continuously\nproduce healthy, tasty fruit and vegetables with exciting new tastes and\nconsistencies. Not only do they provide all the essential vitamins, they are\nalso designed so that their particularly valuable combinations of nutrients can\nbe perfectly absorbed and utilized by the human body &#8211; for a healthy and long\nlife. Pieces of the plants can be easily picked as required, the harvested\nparts grow back quickly and offer a constantly fresh food supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, Food Revolution also offers tasty treats for your\nhousemates of a special kind: experts recommend the consumption of extremely\nhealthy insects as an alternative to meat, and insects that are particularly\necological in breeding. In order to take away the culturally determined disgust\nof Europeans, no longer the whole insect with legs and head is eaten, but only\naesthetically pleasing and delicious tasting body parts that the animal\nproduces especially for its owner.<br>\nJust as a lizard is able to shed its tail and let it grow back in case of\ndanger, the future small food factories will produce body parts that can be\nsimply &#8222;harvested&#8220; or rejected by themselves &#8211; without having to\nsuffer and die for human consumption.<br>\nIn independent and symbiotic kitchen biotopes the animals and plants care for\nand nurture each other.
