Carried by Caring- Movement research through and with materiality/ Getragen durch Fürsorge - Bewegungsforschung durch und mit Materialität

In diesem Workshop werden wir Bewegung, Form und Materialität durch Tragen und Umsorgen ausbalancieren, anpassen und kanalisieren.

Durch die Vielfalt der Sinneswahrnehmung und mittels körperlicher Verfasstheiten werden wir dem Material innewohnenden Bewegungsqualitäten erforschen.

Indem wir die Musikalität, den Rhythmus, das Gewicht, die Beziehung und den menschlichen Wunsch nach Fürsorge walten lassen, werden wir Situationen konstruieren, in denen wir neue Konstellationen erfahren.

Wir werden die Auswirkung und dialogischen Empfindungsraum durch die Materialien und ihren spezifischen Formen tragen, legen, und uns konkret mit ihnen in gleichberechtigter Beziehung setzen.

Dabei achten wir auf Nuancen und Spezifika der ausgewählten Materialien, indem wir sie ertasten, berühren, ihnen zu hören, widerhallen und mitschwingen.

In this workshop we will balance, adapt and channel movement, form and materiality through carring and caring.

Through the diversity of sensory perception and by means of our own physical movement, we will build a bridge to forms and their potential and explore movement qualities inherent in the material.

By letting musicality, rhythm, weight, relationship and the human desire to care prevail, we will construct situations in which we experience new constellations.

We will carry, lay the impact and dialogical sensory space through the materials and their specific forms, and concretely relate to them in an equal way.

In doing so, we will pay attention to nuances and specifics of the selected materials by feeling them, touching them, listening to them, echoing and resonating with them.

Nitsan Margaliot is a choreographer, dancer, and curator entangled with family and queer archives, fabulation, and vulnerable encounters. 

He danced with the Batsheva Ensemble and Vertigo Dance Company. Since moving to Berlin in 2014, he has worked with Laurent Chetouane, Maud Le Pladec, Kat Valastur, Aoife McAtamney, Moritz Majce, Benjamin Taos Bertrand, Anne Collod, Milla Koistinen and Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop.
His choreographic works have been presented at 14StreetY NYC, Vitlycke Centre for Performing Arts Sweden, Israel Festival, Radialsystem, English Theatre Berlin, Soundance Festival - Dock11, PATHOS Munich, Kunstquartier Bethanien, Adama Festival, LAB Frankfurt, Suzanne Dellal Centre, SomoS Arts Berlin, Barnes Crossing Cologne, Kelim Choreography Center, and Jewish Filmdays Frankfurt.

Nitsan holds an MFA from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he evolved his research around subjective relation to time through writings and installations.

In 2020 he initiated TouchingMargins.com, an alter-archive, with Sasha Portyannikova and Anna Chwialkowska; and recently he founded The Choreographic Institute together with Tamar Sonn and Sarah Holcman. In 2022-23 he is co-curator of the exhibition and performance series Movement Research ACROSS at Galerie Wedding. He is a 2023 research resident at tanzhaus nrw and Künstlerhaus Mousonturm; and a recipient of the Tanzpraxis stipend granted by the Berlin Senate Department of Culture
