The class is invited to explore a few hours exercise of poetic reflection on various moments of  knowledge ownership, hierarchisation and loss. We will voice together thoughts and sounds on the  scale from how to preserve to how to let go of order on things.  The imaginary starting point is a secret side of an archive. The archivist is as well a cook. Their  hands flip pages like slicings potatoes, misspell names like dropping too much spice, join things/tastes that never met, preserve, conserve, protect, arrange, select, order and take care. Just as  the cook, the archivist prefers to keep secrets, to fragment the spectacle of displaying knowledge,  performing hospitality in selfish acts. But what happens when the secrets are lost?
Poetry and sound will accompany exercises on how to forget, let go and talk about things which are  not there. The ambition of the exercise is sharing and working with secrets about things that are  not there anymore.

Jasmina AL-QAISI is a visual researcher, writer and archivist. She writes as she speaks in her own  English, caught between sound and visual poetry. She investigates intersections between body  politics, intimacy, digitally mediated relationships, homes and aways often in close communication  with her grandmother. She transfers poetry in performative acts and sound with gastronomy into  radio formats. In SAVVY Contemporary she is part of the team for the sound art and experimental  music 'Untrainig the Ear', she is one of the archivists in SAVVY.doc, supports the making of  various exhibitions and provides gastronomical nurture. She often makes waves on free,  independent, temporary or mobile radios. She recently joined the artistic research project Research  and Waves and often writes for the art magazine Revista ARTA. She co-authors diverse audio  actions with the artist Ralf Wendt, latest they transmitted on radio waves the Hyderabad Literary  festival for 2020.
