Recovery - Clemens Stosiek, Giorgi Tsutskiridze
“RECOVERY” is an adaptive thermal protection system designed for mountain
rescue. The thermoreflective layer is laser-cut with auxetic patterns that can be
opened and closed using elastic straps. Depending on the activity, heat can be
selectively released to the outside or retained inside. During intense rescue
operations, changing clothes is often impossible; this technology enables
temperature regulation without ventilation slits, thereby preventing moisture from
entering. The goal is to make the clothing lighter and more dynamic to ensure
maximum freedom of movement and minimize weight.
In this concept, the layer is presented as a vest to illustrate its functionality;
however, to protect the delicate structures, it is intended for real-world use as a
mid-layer within a jacket.
