Scissors are among the most commonplace tools of everyday life. Particularly in a desk environment, they are used frequently, yet they rarely have a designated place. Due to their wide handle shape, they usually do not fit into the narrow compartments of conventional drawer organizers and therefore end up lying loosely among other desk accessories or on the desktop itself. This everyday observation led to the development of Amao. The scissors are made from magnetizable stainless steel and are securely held upright by a magnet integrated into the stand. A milled cork base with an integrated weight ensures stability while echoing the cork details of the handle. The use of cork offers an alternative to the conventional rubber and plastic grip materials. The result is a reduced pair of scissors that is always within easy reach and stands prominently on the desktop as a natural part of the workspace.
