Klick & Schnipp - Linnea Hennig

Klick & Schnipp is a modular scissor system for children that adapts to different stages of development and grows with the child’s abilities. Instead of categorizing children only by age, the system allows an individual combination of three handle sizes and three blade types, ranging from a safe plastic blade to a pointed metal blade. All components are fully compatible and can be exchanged, creating a flexible tool rather than a fixed product. The concept combines safety with self-determination, enabling children to choose a configuration that matches their confidence and motor skills. The aim was to develop a durable alternative to the often short-lived and highly standardized children’s scissors available today. Its design balances a friendly, approachable appearance with the character of a real tool, encouraging children to gain experience independently while gradually developing their cutting skills.
