toma - Fabian Eisenkappel
Toma is a communal vegetable washing and cutting station designed for collective spaces such as community-supported agriculture projects. The object combines two fundamental steps of food preparation, washing and cutting into a seamless workflow. An integrated basin is used for cleaning vegetables, while removable cutting boards positioned above create flexible working areas. Depending on the need, the surface can be arranged as one continuous workspace or divided into several individual cutting stations. The mobile elements accompany the entire preparation process and can also be reused in other locations. Toma consciously moves everyday activities outdoors and creates a space for communal cooking, exchange, and interaction. As part of an outdoor kitchen, the object encourages an analogue experience in the open air and promotes a more mindful approach to food. The circular design allows several people to work together simultaneously, creating short distances, eye contact, and natural communication. In this way, Toma becomes more than a functional workstation it serves as a connecting element within the shared cooking process.
