Magen Milah - Inbal Lavie
“Magen Milah” explores how the meaning of a form shifts depending on its context.
Taking as its starting point the medical instrument that is used in the Jewish “Brit Milah“ (circumcision), which combines protection and precision, the project applies this form to everyday cutting tools. The result is a herb cutter, a vegetable peeler, and a pair of nail clippers—objects that exist at the intersection of ritual, protection, and utility.
The project demonstrates how the meaning of a form changes when function, context, and usage are redefined.
