schnitt:stelle - Kaan Romey, Oskar Rahm
Why has woodcarving all but disappeared from adult everyday life? As children, many of us sat outside with a piece of wood and a pocket knife — but our surroundings have changed, and the kind of carving we used to know has little room left in them. It is precisely for this setting that we designed schnitt:stelle.
A roll-up pouch safely stores an ash wood handle and four different, interchangeable blades.
Unique to this set, the pouch doubles as a portable work surface wherever you happen to be.
Any chips created in the process land on its surface and can then be stowed away in an integrated zip-up bag.
We focused less on the tool and more on its context.
Whether for short breaks, as a form of meditation, or simply creative play — there is great value in woodcarving, and with our product we want to bring it back.
