28 mm
Rammed earth stabilised with non-woven fibers
The project “28 mm“ is a balancing act between form and stability. It is an attempt to overcome previous limits of clay construction. Mighty becomes narrow, upright becomes flat. Rammed earth technology is known for its load-bearing capacity. It is also known that it fails quickly under tensile load. For this reason, natural fiber scrims are incorporated into the slabs in multiple layers and orientations.
The polished terrazzo surface complements the new achieved lightness with a form of appearance that we have never known from clay.
