Butterflies in the tummy

Rotational moulding with isomalt

We’re all familiar with them… the cute little chocolate bugs that grin at us on the supermarket shelves. But did you know that there are over 6,000 species of ladybugs alone? I would like to share my fascination for the order of beetles. As my mother worked a lot with insects, I came into contact with them early on as a child. I believe that you can only protect what you actually notice. Only then can you understand their beauty and complexity. With this project, I want to show that the form does not have to be trivialized in order to associate it with something positive (“sweet”). As an advent calendar, children and adults can get to know 24 developmental stages of a beetle species that is on the Red List. Alternatively, however, different species can be chosen to highlight the wealth of variation. Beetles also give you butterflies in your tummy.
