Spiceshot

Season together, eat alone

The absurdity described in this project by a machine is that of neighbourhoods. Different people live together in a house, but they live more alongside each other than in a communal togetherness. How can an exchange between different residents within a house be designed in such a way that the barriers to social interaction are reduced to a minimum? With the Spiceshot, it is possible to exchange spices with neighbours through indirect communication using light and sound signals, creating a sense of community within the comfort of one’s own four walls. Each spice is only available once in a residential building, which is why an exchange must take place. However, only the system knows to whom the spice is transmitted.
