tick tan turn
Cooling time pulse to aid tanning
This project addresses the absurdity of sunbathing. Tick Tan Turn plays with the analogy of solarium glasses, which symbolise the conscious acceptance of skin damage in order to conform to European ideals of beauty. To heighten this absurdity, this product features a refreshing timer that signals when to turn over in the sun to achieve the ‘perfect’ tan. The gadget consists of an ice cube tray in which connecting eyelets are frozen together with water. The finished ice cubes are clamped between solarium glasses and an elastic band. When the ice melts, the eyelets come apart and the glasses snap off. The tanning cycle can now begin again. The cylindrical cool box allows the product to be used on the beach.
