Das Studio LoopLoop ist ein Beispiel für Designstudios, welche im Bereich der Material- und Technologieforschung arbeiten. Es hat sich 2022 aus einer Zusammenarbeit von Odin Visser und Charles Gateu heraus in Rotterdam gegründet. Sie entwickelten das erste pflanzenbasierte Eloxierverfahren, was den bisherigen Schwerpunkt ihrer Arbeit darstellt.
Sie wollen sich weiterhin auch anderen industriellen Prozessen annehmen, sie verstehen, nachahmen und experimentieren, um nachhaltigere und dezentralere Fertigungsmethoden zu entwickeln. Spannend hierbei ist auch der Ansatz der Wissensvermittlung (Open Source), welcher zentraler Bestandteil der Arbeit des Studios ist.

Das niederländische Designer-Duo Studio Klarenbeek & Dros forscht an nachhaltigen Alternativen zu Plastik und entwirft Objekte und Architektur-Elemente aus Pilzen und Algen. Dabei konzentrieren sie sich auf die Entwicklung von Projekten an der Schnittstelle zwischen Natur und (Bio-)Technologie, um zu neuen ökotechnischen Lösungen zu gelangen, die sowohl sozial als auch ökologisch einen positiven Beitrag leisten.
