Laptops

A total of 25 laptops are available for student projects. Five of them will be provided for one semester to students who are in financial difficulties. This will ensure that students are able to participate in digital formats within their studies. The other laptops are available for special work situations regardless of the financial situation. All laptops are equipped with Affinity and Adobe. Further software licences can be provided on request.

Deadlines for renting in the summer semester 2023
Per semester (from now - 29. February 2024) or per project for a few days or a few weeks.

Information about the rent
Fill out the form, print it out, sign it and return it to us (room 218 in the Media Centre) or drop it in the mailbox of the Studium Digitale project (next to the mailroom, Villa am Design Campus Neuwerk). Alternatively, you can fill out and sign the form online or send a scan of the signed form to studiumdigitale(at)burg-halle.de.

Information on getting and returning the laptops
If a laptop is available, you will receive an email. An insurance (Haftpflichtversicherung) is obligatory. The deadline for returning the laptops rented by semester is 29. February 2024.

iPads

Studium Digitale offers a total of 10 iPads for projects or exhibitions. In special cases, iPads can be rented for one semester to students in financial difficulties. This will enable students to participate in digital formats within their studies. For the optimal use of the iPads, a personal Apple ID is required, which is not provided by Studium Digitale.

The maximum rental period is 1-2 weeks.

Streaming suitcase

In total, there is one packed streaming suitcases to realize simple livestream scenarios or recordings on your own with one camera perspective. The cases also contain an illustrated tutorial (which is also available online [link to file: tutorial_streaming.pdf]) on how to set up and stream. More equipment can be added if, for example, multiple camera angles, a handheld camera or multiple audio inputs are required.

Information on renting a streaming suitcase
The rental period is a maximum of 3-5 days. The elements in the streaming suitcase can also be rented individually. Please fill out the form, print it out, sign it and hand it in personally (room 218 in the Media Centre, Neuwerk 1) or drop it in the mailbox of the Studium Digitale project (next to the post office, Villa am Design Campus Neuwerk). Alternatively, you can send a scan of the signed form to studiumdigitale(at)burg-halle.de.

Video conference tools
Several video conferencing systems (Meeting Owl 3), as well as conference microphones (Beyerdynamic Space) are available for loan to support smaller hybrid online meetings (e.g. video conferencing in conference table format with +/- 6 people participating on site).

VR Glasses

For student and teaching projects, as well as exhibitions, Studium Digitale lends a total of five Oculus Quest 2 VR glasses. We support individual requests and offer technical introductions to VR and VR drawing programmes such as the free software Gravity.

The VR glasses box includes:

• VR glasses (Meta/Oculus Quest 2)
• Two controllers
• Charger
• Distance holder for your normal glasses
   

Information on renting VR glasses

The rental period is a maximum of 1-2 weeks.  The VR glasses are only lent to people with sufficient experience in using VR glasses. If you have not yet taken a VR course, we can give you a short introduction. Please contact us in the office or write an email to studium-digitale(at)burg-halle.de.
