Excursion 2: c-LEcta

Our second stop took us to c-LEcta GmbH where Andreas Vogel, head of Enzyme Development, introduced us to the basics of enzyme technology and its fields of application, which vary from the use of enzymes in industrial processes to their application in research and diagnostics. We learned more about enzymes themselves and about the potentials of enzyme technology. Together we had a tour through the labs, learned about the equipment and manufacturing processes, and had the opportunity to taste enzyme-opti- mized sweeteners.
