Color as Material and Spatial Experience
Color does not exist in isolation. It always operates relationally, through contrast, layers, and context. Understanding how it functions begins with observing interaction: how color changes with its surroundings and, in turn, how it alters our perception of space itself.
During the week, we explored how the depth and spatial presence of color develop through changes in quality, temperature, and saturation, rather than only through differences in form or perspective. Color was examined as a dynamic system, an organizing force, and an event in space – rather than as a flat surface existing on its own.
Through focused exercises and experiments, the students explored the relativity and transformative potential of color and learned to consciously create and control states of chromatic change.
