Eine Webseite kann nachts auf einem Handyscreen im Bett liegen, als Anzeigetafel am überfüllten Flughafenterminal fungieren, Manager*innen auf der Beamer-Wand im Meetingraum ins Schwitzen bringen oder als künstlerisches Medium Teil von Installationen oder performativen Akten sein.
Screens und ihre Inhalte leben immer in Beziehung zu dem Raum, in dem sie stattfinden. Genauso kann der digitale Raum, den eine Webseite eröffnet, den physischen Raum gänzlich verändern oder erweitern. Es gibt ein Vor und Hinter der Scheibe – diese Welten sind aber weder getrennt, noch sind sie wirklich eins. Durch jede Interaktion entsteht ein neuer Raum zwischen den Räumen.
Wir wollen in diesem Kurs untersuchen, wie eine Webseite für einen ganz spezifischen Ort aussehen könnte oder wie man mit der Räumlichkeit einer Webseite auf ebendiesen einwirken kann. Wo korrelieren die Räumlichkeit unserer Umgebung und die Zweidimensionalität eines Screens, und wie lässt sich diese Grenze zwischen Raum und Screen gar aufheben?
Der Kurs bietet eine Einführung in die Programmierung künstlerischer Webseiten. Ihr bekommt Grundlagen von HTML und CSS vermittelt, mit dem Ziel, selbstständig eine Webseite zu entwerfen und zu programmieren. Hierzu sind keinerlei Vorkenntnisse erforderlich.  In der Zeit des Kurses wird individuell oder in kleinen Gruppen an der Umsetzung eines Projekts gearbeitet, welches sich mit dem Thema „Raum“ beschäftigt. Bitte bringt dazu einen Laptop mit. Als Ergebnis entstehen kleine Webseiten, Installationen und/oder andere Formate, welche am Ende in einer kollektiven Präsentation oder einer kleinen Ausstellung ihren Weg in den physischen Raum finden.

A website can lie in bed on a mobile screen at night, serve as a display board at an crowded airport terminal, make executives sweat on the projector wall in the meeting room, or be part of installations or performative acts as an artistic medium.
Screens and their contents always live in relation to the space/room in which they appear. Similarly, the digital space opened by a website can completely change or expand the physical space. There is a before and behind the screen – but these worlds are neither separate nor truly one. Through each interaction, a new space is created between the spaces.
We want to explore how a website can look for a very specific location or how the spatiality of a website can influence its surrounding. Where do the spatiality of our surroundings and the two-dimensionality of a screen correlate, and how can this boundary between space and screen be completely dissolved?
The course offers an introduction to programming artistic websites. You will learn the basics of HTML and CSS, with the goal of independently designing and programming a website. No prior knowledge is required. During the course, we will work individually or in small groups on the implementation of a project that deals with the topic of „space/room“. Please bring your own laptop.  As a result, small websites, installations, and/or other formats will emerge, which will find their way into the physical space at the end in a collective presentation or a small exhibition.
