Im Kurs Das Ende vom Lied? setzen wir uns kritisch mit dem Einfluss von Künstlicher Intelligenz auf die Musikproduktion auseinander. Statt nur theoretisch über Chancen und Risiken zu sprechen, konfrontieren wir uns direkt mit den Möglichkeiten dieser neuen Tools: Die Teilnehmenden nutzen KI-gestützte Verfahren zur Musik- und Textgenerierung und schöpfen deren Potenziale einmal bewusst vollständig aus.
Im Laufe des Semesters entwickeln alle Kursteilnehmende einen fiktiven Artist – inklusive Songs, visueller Gestaltung und narrativer Elemente. Dabei werden nicht nur die technischen Möglichkeiten erprobt, sondern auch grundlegende Fragen nach Urheberschaft, Originalität und künstlerischer Identität diskutiert.
Am Ende des Kurses steht eine Präsentation der Projekte sowie eine gemeinsame Reflexion darüber, wie sich die Rolle von Musiker:innen und Hörer:innen durch KI verändern könnte und welche Chancen und Herausforderungen dies für die Zukunft der Musik bedeutet.

Valentin Hansen arbeitet als Musiker und Creative Director und veröffentlichte konzeptuelle Projekte, die die Grenzen von Musik, Technologie und Kunst erforschen – zuletzt mit dem Album max, das über 7 Monate alle zwei Minuten einen neuen Song veröffentlicht hat (122.666 Songs ingsgesamt).

In the course “Das Ende vom Lied?” (The End of the Song?), we take a critical look at the influence of artificial intelligence on music production. Instead of just talking theoretically about opportunities and risks, we confront ourselves directly with the possibilities of these new tools: participants use AI-supported methods for music and text generation and consciously exploit their full potential.
Over the course of the semester, all course participants develop a fictional artist—including songs, visual design, and narrative elements. In doing so, they not only explore the technical possibilities, but also discuss fundamental questions of authorship, originality, and artistic identity.
At the end of the course, there will be a presentation of the projects and a joint reflection on how AI could change the role of musicians and listeners and what opportunities and challenges this presents for the future of music.

Valentin Hansen works as a musician and creative director and has released conceptual projects that explore the boundaries of music, technology, and art — most recently with the album max, which released a new song every two minutes for seven months (122,666 songs in total).
