The Pflasterpücker is a brightly coloured machine that uses fairground charm to combat the grey everyday nature of sealed surfaces. With its colourful paintwork, levers to touch and a touch of fairground aesthetics, our machine-automaton plays – and takes up space.
It's all about something very simple: pulling out a stone. Putting a plant in. Between its exaggerated showmanship and quiet purposelessness, the object questions the overdesigned world of supposed problem solutions. The aim is to charm people in a charming way, to make them think and to encourage dialogue.
