David Brüll – „Electric Society“

14.10.2025, Halle (Saale) / Berlin

David Brüll is an interaction designer with a studio in Berlin. He gave the group a great insight into the concept of an „All Electric Society“. The „All Electric Society” concept envisions a future where energy is not only produced but intelligently distributed, stored, and experienced. Instead of installing charging stations everywhere, the focus lies on integrating them into a dynamic, data-driven system. A market-friendly station charges when electricity is cheap, while a grid-friendly one responds to network load and can even feed power back during shortages. This principle extends to solar panels, batteries, and heat storage, all connected through a digital infrastructure that manages energy flows in real time.
David Brüll could explain the concept so well since he recently designed the visitors‘ experience of the „All Electric Society Park“ in Blomberg for the company Phoenix Contact, who develops and produces components and solutions in the fields of electrification, connectivity, and control.
Within the energy experience park, the vision of the „All Electric Society“ becomes tangible. Across one square kilometer, photovoltaic panels, wind turbines, ice and battery storage, and hydrogen technologies are interconnected. A central control hub visualizes live energy flows, while thematic cubes on mobility, heat, or water present interactive data visualizations. Visitors can explore energy generation, consumption, and the impact of time and demand through simulations.
The educational installations make energy cycles engaging and accessible. Household appliances powered by an electric car battery illustrate how vehicles can serve as decentralized energy storage. Transparent pipeline models reveal how waste heat and surplus energy are recycled into central reservoirs.
The „All Electric Society Park” demonstrates how technological infrastructure, ecological thinking, and design can merge into a participatory energy ecosystem—a network where data, space, and human experience interact dynamically.
