VISIT OF ICD UNIVERSITY STUTTGART

08.05.2015 – Stuttgart – introduction by Oliver David Krieg

The Institute for Computational Design and Construction (ICD) is dedicated to teaching and research in the field of computational design and computer-aided manufacturing processes in architecture.

There are two main areas of research at the ICD: the theoretical and practical development of generative computer-aided design processes and the integral use of computer-aided manufacturing processes with special emphasis on robot manufacturing. These topics are investigated by developing calculation methods that balance the interactions of form, material, structure and environment and integrate technological advances in manufacturing to produce performative materials and building systems.
