KATSCHING

from friction to sound

Inspired by the sound of pulling a sword or sharpening a knife, we have developed ‘Katsching’.

The sound is created by the metal rod sliding along our curved bronze form. This is thereby brought to vibrate and reverberates.

The shaping consists of the hook on which the form is suspended, the ‘string surface’ which thins out to improve the sound, and the counterweight which, through the counterpressure, allows the sound object to be stroked down in a straight line.

The solid rubber mounting ensures a small contact surface and the best possible vibration of the sounding body.
