CO+SESSION

CO+SESSION

What can we learn from slime molds? What design-potentials do local fibers hold? How can we co-create with non-humans? What role do art and design have in times of climate crises? And what exactly does animal-aided design mean?

CO+SESSION is a pre-semester burg session diving into the topics of cohabitation and collaboration as social-ecological transformation practices. We are exploring how shifting the needs of other species or ecosystems into the center of our attention can inform our art and design practices towards a more just, sustainable, and brighter futures.

Through an interdisciplinary program of hands-on workshops, lectures, collective reading and excursions we want to investigate these questions. CO+SESSION is conceived as a shared work-in-progress: a space for testing new ways of thinking, making, and living together. We are opening the doors of the BioTech Incubator and the Materialsammlung, starting the climate council here at BURG, while also connecting with initiatives and spaces beyond the campus.
