Practice Grounds means we stray in different directions and try out whatever
makes us curious. It means that the hours spent making mistakes can
sometimes be more valuable than the final result.

This time, we’ll be creating audioreactive visuals. First we will collect inspiration by taking a look at the beginnings of the genre in Algorithmic Art, and follow its development to the modern times, arriving at emerging formats. 
Our tool of choice is Touchdesigner. We’ll refresh our skills, learn the way Touchdesigner recognises and uses sound data, and try create engaging visualisations of our favourite songs.

You don´t need any previous experience with playing instruments, musical production or musical software. Also the course requires only basic understanding of Touchdesigner. Your interest counts the most, as we’ll focus on process, learning and experimentation, and try to find inspiration in having the power of modern computation at our fingertips.

You will need:
Laptops with installed Touchdesigner (Computers from 4D-Grundlagen are also available) + Headphones (Important!);
Some Kopfkino-music / inspiration pictures to visual aesthetics you want to try
out / an interesting 3D-model you want to repurpose;
Notebook and pen;
Motivation to challenge yourself, but also patience :)
