"Staying with the Trouble" –
A conversation on the topic of the year 2026/2027

The starting point is Staying with the Trouble – Donna Haraway’s argument that, in the face of social and environmental crises, we should not seek simple answers, but rather work with contradictions, uncertainties and interconnections.

With this notion we would like to invite the community of the BURG for a joint dinner and conversation. For the 2026/27 academic year, we are seeking a shared annual theme in the field of socio-ecological transformation that brings together different areas of the school and creates opportunities for projects, teaching formats, practical workshops, discussions, and joint activities. 

The dinner is the ground work for our decision process of the topic of the year – its the moment where we decide which direction it can take us.

As the theme should connect and relate to as many areas and actors of the school as possible, its important to have many voices around the table. No prior knowledge is required; the aim is simply to exchange thoughts and ideas on the topic – we look forward to hearing a wide range of perspectives from the BURG.

Please contact us if you wish to participate in the dinner! Food and drinks will be provided. The dinner will be vegetarian with vegan and gluten-free options. We’ll meet next to the Blauwagen under the trees – if the weather isn’t on our side, we’ll find a solution that’s suitable for any weather.
