With electricity consumption rising, and a transition to the use of sustainable energy resources only, there will soon be a strong competition for the use of farmland – power generation or food cultivation? In agriculture polytunnels are widely used to protect fruit and vegetable crops and to elongate the harvesting period. “2harvest” integrates organic solar cells into durable, reusable greenhouse foil and thereby enables a dual use of the agricultural area. The printable solar cells open a wide range of design possibilities due to individual pattern and colour compositions on the foil.
