Habitats

In the third homework assignment, the students came into direct contact with insects. In teams of two, habitats were created and colonized with a freely chosen insect species. Falko Matthes was available to answer questions about keeping insects. The habitats and the observations made were documented and presented at the start of the semester. The students chose flour beetles, ants, food moths, large black beetles, wax moths, emerald cockroaches, Argentine cockroaches and crickets. Depending on the size of the habitats, from a few specimens to whole swarms of insects were raised.
