Pecha Kucha  (3rd homework)

02.04.2024, Halle (Saale)

For the third part of the homework the students delivered Pecha Kucha presentations focusing on the theme of plants and resilience. Each presentation required thorough research and was structured into four distinct categories, with a total of 20 slides and a 6:40-minute speaking limit. The research categories consisted of…
Plant Superpowers:
Students showcased five plant-based “superpowers” that inspire, particularly in the context of resilience. These examples highlighted remarkable abilities or features of plants that contribute to their robustness and adaptability.
Plant Traditions:
Five plant traditions were presented, emphasizing their significance and relevance to the project. These traditions, which reflect historical or cultural practices involving plants, were explored for their inspirational aspects.
Plant Design Projects:
Students introduced five innovative plant-related design projects that they found particularly compelling. This section allowed for a discussion on creative and visionary plant-based designs that the students would have liked to create themselves.
Plant Technologies:
The presentation included five plant technologies, categorized as either absurd, sophisticated, or exceptionally clever. This segment focused on the inventive and sometimes extravagant ways in which plant-based technologies have been developed.
Each Pecha Kucha presentation consisted of 20 slides, with each slide automatically displayed for 20 seconds, adhering to the format’s strict timing constraints. Students used the pre-set slides on the provided board and saved their presentations as PDFs for review.
The session provided a comprehensive overview of the diverse ways in which plants contribute to resilience, offering both inspiration and critical insights into their applications and innovations.
