Die Jahresausstellung der Klasse Malerei / Glas 'once the air has shifted' ist im Pförtnerhaus der Burg Giebichenstein Halle und im 2. OG im Hermesgebäude zu sehen.

The air moves with us; the air moves us.
It carries scents, moisture, dust, and warmth.

Unsettled conditions arise across varied terrain, and a pressure gradient appears. Where different atmospheres almost meet, a space opens up where the mist has not yet settled and things remain in suspension – lingering in the in-between, on the verge of taking shape. Masses meet and overlap: a fold, a gap, a space of contact emerges.

We asked ourselves under which conditions art is made. Under which conditions it is shown. Under which conditions we work, learn and come together.

The works in this exhibition encounter each other here for the first time. They stand side by side, contradict each other, support one another, or remain unfamiliar. Between them, materials, thoughts, conversations, scents, and visitors circulate.

What happens when the conditions change? And how do we encounter each other afterwards?
