Classroom teaching at BURG is possible again. Studio and work spaces are accessible to students. Strict cohort separation will continue to apply. On-site presence is voluntary for students.

+++ Current changes will be published here continuously +++

(Status: 18.6.21) Please note these following recent changes:

  • Classroom teaching at BURG is possible again. Participation in classroom teaching is voluntary for students. Those who have concerns do not have to participate in classroom teaching. No medical proof is required for this. Students who do not participate in classroom teaching must also be offered digital teaching so that they are not at a disadvantage.
  • Classroom teaching is one possible option for teaching. However, there is no obligation for lecturers to conduct classroom teaching.
  • Please note the max. number of persons allowed in the respective teaching rooms (square meter numbers are posted in front of each room, currently the key is max. 1 person/10 sqm in the room).
  • Strict cohort separation continues to apply. Medical masks must be worn indoors, a FFP2 mask is no longer mandatory. Please continue to use the contact data registration, you are welcome to do this digitally at www.burg-halle.de/kde.
  • BURG opens the university to students for urgent work at the workstations, in the studios, and by appointment in the workshops.
  • Departmental workshops open to students for mandatory work. Priority will be given to students who are graduating in the current semester. Students are assigned to the workshops by their courses/fields of study and by their professors.
  • The Central Workshops and the Print Shop are only open to students who are currently graduating. Students are only able to enter if they take a Coronatest. For this purpose, a "test center" has been put into operation in front of the Central Workshops. Between 8:00 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. Monday through Friday, students can take the tests for this purpose free of charge. Please note: Isolated work is only possible in one workshop or the university print shop, even with a negative test on that day; it is not possible to switch between workshops.
  • The library opens for members of university Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.
  • Teachers and employees of the administration are working at home whenever possible. Video conferencing and other digital meetings take priority over direct meetings.
  • All meals must be taken outside. At the fixed workplaces, it is only permitted to take small snacks and drinks, provided that the distance requirement can be observed.

General hygiene and distance rules
Campus access and student works in studios and workshops can only be realized if we adhere to the distance rules. Medical masks must be worn indoors, a FFP2 mask is no longer mandatory. Everyone should wash their hands regularly or use disinfectant dispensers. Further information as well as exceptions can be found in the general decree (in German language, if you need the decree in another language please contact corona-post(at)burg-halle.de). University members who are exempt from wearing a mask by medical certificate are not allowed to enter the university premises for their own safety. Please also make sure that rooms are ventilated regularly: meeting rooms three times per hour, individual offices once per hour.

Self-testing for everyone.
All BURG members will receive free self-tests. Those who come to BURG test themselves once or twice a week at home with the easy-to-use test (swab in the anterior nasal cavity). The distribution for students runs through the departments. We can provide the offer on short notice.

Entry from abroad
If you have been abroad and would like to enter the grounds of the BURG, please contact corona-post(at)burg-halle.de in advance. It will be checked as soon as possible whether you receive an access permit. The same applies if you have had closer contact (15 minutes or longer) with people who have returned from abroad.

Mouth and nose cover
Medical masks must be worn indoors, a FFP2 mask is no longer mandatory.

Contact data sheets
When entering the university, contact data sheets must always be filled out. In addition to the printed contact data sheets (available as pdf or printed out on site), contact data can be entered digitally. When a student stays in a room, the QR code can be scanned with the smartphone and thus the presence is recorded. When two people meet, the encounter can be recorded by scanning the personal QR code on one person's smartphone using the smartphone of the other person. The QR codes contain links to www.burg-halle.de/kde, where one can log in with the Burg access data or, if necessary, register oneself. Further information can be found in German lanuage at https://www.burg-halle.de/kde/anleitung.

Excursions
Excursions are not possible at the moment. Day trips can also not be undertaken.

Use and access of workshops, workstations and studios
Studios and workshops are accessible. However, space remains limited as only a limited number of people can be allowed in the rooms for infection control.
Please note that the decentralized workshops are only open for work that is absolutely necessary. Priority is given to students who are in the process of completing their degree (diploma, master's degree, state examination, bachelor's degree) in the current semester. Students are assigned to the workshops via the degree programs/fields of study and the professors.
The Central Workshops and the Print Shop are only accessible to students who are currently graduating (Diplom, Master, Staatsexamen, Bachelor). Students are only able to enter the Central Workshops and the University Print Shop if they take a Coronatest. For this purpose, a "test center" has been put into operation in front of the Central Workshops. Between 8:00 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. Monday through Friday, students can take the tests for this purpose free of charge.
For project work, additional space is available in a container facility.
