Study course

‘Meisterschüler*innen’ course of study

Postgraduate course in the Art Faculty

Aims and duration of the postgraduate course

The BURG may award students in the Department of Art a special distinction by appointing them as ‘Meisterschüler*in’. By appointing a student as a ‘Meisterschüler’ or ‘Meisterschülerin’, the university certifies their outstanding artistic achievements and recognises their ability to undertake in-depth and independent artistic work. The appointment is made on the recommendation of a professor from the Department of Art.

Independent artistic work is at the heart of the ‘Meisterschüler*innen’ programme. It deepens students’ practical and academic artistic skills and abilities and serves to foster their artistic development projects.

The standard duration of study, including the final examination, is two semesters and may be extended by up to two further semesters by mutual agreement.
