In this course, we’ll explore the open-source program Blender together: a powerful 3D suite that’s freely available. The goal is to gain practical insight into the software’s diverse features and applications and to develop a solid foundation for working independently with its individual tools. This will not only equip you with technical skills but also with the ability to integrate Blender into your own design work over the long term and continue to develop your skills.
We’ll start with an introduction to the basics: the workspace and document setup, tools and functions, and file formats and outputs. From there, we’ll dive into creating our own 3D models. Step by step, we’ll expand our repertoire: from working with modifiers to creating and assigning materials and textures, all the way to lighting and rendering a virtual scene. A special focus is placed on cloth simulation, which is ideal for visualizing textile structures.
