Shani Nahum

Künstlerische Mitarbeiterin Gestalterische und Künstlerische Grundlagen

Shani Nahum completed her Master's degree in Conceptual Textile Design at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in October 2023. She formerly earned her Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art in Tel Aviv.

Through her work, she continuously explores and pushes the boundaries of how color materializes across different disciplines, aiming to influence our contemporary environment. Her projects convey complex experiences of belonging, identity, and environmental narratives through the interplay between material and color, utilizing them as a language that evokes emotion and action.

In her master’s project “The Boiling Purple ”, for example, she investigated motifs of temperature and color to raise awareness of ultraviolet radiation, incorporating materials that visibly change color when exposed to UV light.

Since March 2025, she has been working as an artistic assistant in 2D color courses at BURG. This advanced certification builds upon her research project, “The Great Green”, initiated in the Textile Design Department, which explores the relationship between scent, color, and memory.
