Sonja Scheuringer

Sonni Scheuringer is an artistic assistant in public relations/the rectorate since 2024, where she works as a designer on the continuation and further development of BURG’s visual identity and on a variety of different graphic applications.

She studied book art/graphic design in the Systemdesign class of Prof. Maureen Mooren at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig and graduated in 2021 with her diploma project The Space Between (A BODY AND A BAG). After her semester abroad at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design (AAAD/UMPRUM) Prague, she continued to live in the czech capital city and completed internships at Studio Milan Nedvěd and with the artist duo Daniela and Linda Dostalkova.

In addition to her position as an artistic assistant, she works as a freelance graphic designer. Following conceptual approaches, her focus in both commissioned and independent personal work is on the threshold areas and overlaps between art, research, literature, and design. 

Currently, in her own practice she working on the topic of the Lonely Girl Phenomenology—influenced by authors such as Chris Kraus, Jackie Wang, May Sarton, and Kate Zambreno.
