Teaching at BURG is as diverse as its community. However, this diversity does not always reflect the varying needs of those who must navigate this environment and who have a right to participate. The complex situation of freedom in artistic and design education, combined with the necessity of designing systems that do not (re)produce exclusions and digital risks, poses challenges for all members of the BURG.

Mission

By the end of 2027, we want to develop possibilities for transmitting knowledge about digital resilience and accessibility. To do so, we identify gaps, highlight barriers, and develop concrete strategies to reduce digital risks and exclusion. We share knowledge on accessible formats, digital self-defense, and the responsible and creative use of digital tools. As part of a network of seven universities in Saxony-Anhalt, we learn from the expertise of other universities, share it within BURG, and pass on knowledge from BURG to the other universities.

Vision

All members of the BURG should feel confident moving within a shared, mindful, and responsible educational space that recognizes barriers and power structures and actively challenges them rather than reproducing them. Digital tools play an important role in this: they can facilitate access and make collaboration easier. The goal of eSALSA is to build awareness of accessibility and digital resilience to enable everyone to use digital tools reflectively, critically, supportively, and creatively.

eSALSA stands for "e-Service Agentur des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt." The project is funded by Saxony-Anhalt until the end of 2027.
