Indium Slot Machine—What processing steps does indium go through in the extraction of the raw material?
In our examination of indium extraction, the large number of processing steps and the associated long process up to the pure raw material became clear to us.
To illustrate the temporal component in the process of indium extraction, we have placed individual chemical processes in the context of a slot machine. This is intended to reflect the repeated passage through various process steps until pure indium is finally available—ready for further processing into the conductive indium oxide layer of a liquid crystal display.
We have represented the following chemical processes:
Roasting, Grinding, Leaching, Settling, Filtering, Precipitation and Liquid Electrolysis
