At BURG, students can apply for a semester or internship abroad. BURG currently has partnerships with over 70 universities in Europe and beyond.

On the following pages, you will find information about studying in Europe with an Erasmus scholarship and studying worldwide (without an Erasmus scholarship), as well as information about internships in Europe with Erasmus+ and funding opportunities for internships worldwide. If you are interested, you can also read reports from former students about their experiences.

Application Deadlines

Apply for a semester abroad with Erasmus+ or outside of the EU:
Applications must be submitted using the online form. More information will follow shortly!

Application deadline for the summer term of 2027: 06. - 09.04.2026
Application deadline for the winter term of 2027/28: 02. - 05.11.2026 

Apply for a PROMOS scholarship:
Deadline for the winter term 2026/27: 01.06.2026
Deadline for the summer term 2027: 01.02.2027

Erasmus-Praktika:
You can apply for an internship abroad at any time. The Erasmus-Praktika-Büro Sachsen-Anhalt  in Magdeburg is responsible.

Online Info-Session

Es findet jedes Semester eine Informationsveranstaltung zum Auslandsaufenthalt statt. Die Termine hierfür werden frühzeitig auf der Website sowie per E-Mail bekannt gegeben.

Am 11.3.'26 hat eine Online-Info-Session zum Auslandsaufenthalt im SoSe 2027 stattgefunden. Die Präsentation dazu findet ihr hier.

Erasmus+ Traineeship Abroad

Traineeships in EU member states as well as in Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, and Turkey may be funded through an Erasmus+ grant. The Erasmus Internship Office of Saxony-Anhalt, based in Magdeburg, is responsible for this.

Students and graduates are eligible to apply for an internship. Please refer to the relevant information on the Traineeship Office’s website.

Below is a brief general overview of Erasmus funding for traineeships. Once you have been accepted for an internship, the BURG International Office will be happy to sign the Learning Agreement for Erasmus funding.

Hinweise zur Bewerbung für das SoSe 2027:

Aktuell gehen wir davon aus, dass fast alle Partnerhochschulen verfügbar sein werden. Falls es Hinweise zu beachten gibt, findet ihr diese in den Listen.

Für wenige Hochschulen sind bestimmte Studiengänge für Erasmus-Bewerbungen geöffnet. Bei einigen Hochschulen sind generell nur bestimmte Studiengänge für Erasmus-Bewerbungen geöffnet. Weitere Informationen sind dem Partnerhochschulverzeichnis und dem Dokument "Bewerbungsverfahren Erasmus" zu entnehmen.

Eine Bewerbung zum Sommersemester 2027 wird an folgenden Hochschulen nicht möglich sein:

  • Aalto Yliopisto – nur zum WiSe verfügbar
  • ALUO: Univerza v Ljubljani (Ljubljana / Laibach)
  • Billedkunstskolerne – Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademi (Kopenhagen) – Bewerbung nur für den BFA mit Dänisch-Kenntnissen möglich; Bewerbung für den MFA (ohne Dänisch-Kenntnisse) wird ein Semester ausgesetzt
  • KADK Bornholm – nur zum WiSe verfügbar
  • MSGSÜ Istanbul – Bewerbung nur für Industriedesign möglich
  • ZHdK Zürich

BAföG Abroad

Study visits and internships that you complete abroad are also eligible for funding under the Federal Training Assistance Act (BAföG). Students who receive domestic BAföG are eligible in all cases. Students who are not eligible for domestic BAföG can also receive foreign BAföG due to the higher costs associated with a stay abroad. This financial support can sometimes be combined with other programs such as ERASMUS.
