The “Windswept” series captures three handmade scarecrows my father created to protect the berry trees from starlings in our backyard.
Using everyday objects — a plastic bottle, a black bag, a forgotten kite, an old T-shirt, and even my old toy helmet — he transformed dusty objects into rustling, wind-blown figures.
Only one resembles a human form; the others are abstract, moving sculptures that blend into the landscape.
For me, these scarecrows embody a quiet metamorphosis — where forgotten objects find new purpose, where memories resurface in unexpected forms, and where human intervention merges with the rhythm of nature.
They twist in the wind, making sounds that scare away birds, yet their presence feels tender rather than threatening.
