Happy Places

Die Risographie ist ein Schablonendruckverfahren, das ähnlich wie Siebdruck funktioniert. Die Masterfolien werden mit den Motiven belichtet und die Farben werden hintereinander und übereinander auf das Papier gedruckt. Die leuchtstarken aber transparenten Farben lassen sich durch Überlagerungen mischen. Aber auch mit Hilfe von Rasterung und vorheriger Bearbeitung des Farbprofils am Computer kann ein Vierfarbdruck hergestellt werden, der das Farbspektrum des Risographen immens erweitert.

Im Kurs werden wir zeichnerisch oder fotografisch, mit Collagen, digital oder analog einen „Happy Place“ visualisieren, einen Ort, an dem wir uns besonders gut fühlen.
Anhand dieser Vorlage werden wir mit unterschiedlichen Rasterungen und Farbprofilen experimentieren. Wie verändert sich zum Beispiel das Bild, wenn wir das  CMYK (oder beim Risographen: Blue, Pink, Yellow, Black)-Profil mit Rot anstatt Pink oder Orange anstatt Gelb drucken?
Im Prozess werden die Vorlagen verändert, bis am Ende des Kurses Plakate in einer Kleinauflage entstehen, die mit den anderen Kursteilnehmer*innen getauscht werden können.

Risography is a stencil printing process that works in a similar way to screen printing. The master films are exposed with the images and the colors are printed one after each other and on top of each other on the paper. The bright but transparent colors can be mixed by overlaying them. With the help of screening and previous processing of the color profile on the computer, a four-color print can also be produced, which expands the color spectrum of the Risograph immensely.

In the course, we will create a "happy place", a place where we feel particularly comfortable and safe, using drawings or photographs, collages, digital or analog.
Using this template, we will experiment with different screens and color profiles. For example, how does the image change if we print the CMYK (or in case of Riso: Blue, Pink, Yellow, Black) profile with red instead of pink or orange instead of yellow?
The templates are modified during the process until, at the end of the course, posters are created in a small edition that can be exchanged with the other course participants.
