Networking

We are in touch with other art colleges and we are part of the network project of the colleges in the state of Sachsen-Anhalt.

eSALSA

In the joint project eService-Agentur für die Hochschulen im Land Sachsen-Anhalt (eSALSA), eight universities are participating in the development of a state-wide support structure for the digitisation of higher education teaching. Regarding complex didactic, technical and legal issues, the network develops innovative solutions for everyday learning and teaching situations. Also, the project serves as a platform for knowledge transfer and stimulates synergies between the heterogeneous expertise of the universities.

Burg Giebichenstein is involved in the eSALSA key topics of "(Online) Professionalization" and "Hybrid Teaching". As the only art university in the network, the BURG represents the perspective of a learning and teaching environment determined by artistic and creative processes. The BURG is committed to represent the relevant needs for a creative, enlightened and self-determined digitality and related interests in a sustainable way.

The eSALSA project will be funded by the ”Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre” with financial resources from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research for a period of two and a half years from October 2021. After the end of the funding period, the project will be continued in the form of a state initiative.

Further information can be found at the project page.

The artistic-design research project at weißensee kunsthochschule berlin is concerned with discrimination-sensitive hybrid learning spaces for research-based and project-oriented teaching. With the shared goal of finding and answering questions about digital influences in art, design and teaching, the BURG  (Studium Digitale) is in exchange with the weißensee kunsthochschule berlin (+dimensions) to discuss similar questions, challenges and opportunities at their art colleges in the context of digital developments and to transfer solutions.

A first meeting took place in November 2022 as a workshop at the Kunsthalle on Hamburger Platz, where buildings and working spaces were shown, approaches to solutions, sub-projects and experiments were presented and discussed.
