Scholarships for international students of Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle

STIBET-Scholarships

The International Office awards STIBET graduation scholarships and STIBET scholarships for particularly committed international students. These are funded by the DAAD with funds from the Federal Foreign Office.

Graduation Scholarships for International Students

A prerequisite for funding is that international students have not only performed well but are also about to successfully complete their studies within one year.

  • Target group: international students whose successful completion of studies is expected within one year.
  • Amount: at least 250 € (depending on available funds)
  • Application deadline: 20th of May in the summer semester / 20th of October in the winter semester

Application documents:

  • Fully completed and signed application form
  • current matriculation certificate
  • Certificate of study and examination achievements
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Copy of identification document
  • Copy of the residence permit
  • Letter of recommendation from the supervisor of the final thesis
  • Confirmation of registration of the thesis (Examinations Office)

Award criteria:

  • Proven temporal proximity of the degree
  • Stay in Germany during the graduation phase
  • very good academic achievements
  • Professional qualification and thesis
  • Motivation
  • Social situation

Only applications that are complete and submitted by the deadline can be considered.

The selection committee consists of representatives of both departments, a representative of the Rectorate, an employee of the International Office and the Head of Department for Academic Affairs.

Scholarships for particularly committed international students

A prerequisite for funding is that the international students have performed well, but have also distinguished themselves through outstanding commitment in the international context at their university.

  • Target group: International students who are involved in international affairs or are particularly committed to their international fellow students.
  •  Amount: at least 250 € (depending on available funds)
  • Application deadline: 20th of May in the summer semester / 20th of October in the winter semester

Application documents:

  • Fully completed and signed application form
  • current matriculation certificate
  • Certificate of study and examination achievements
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Copy of identification document
  • Copy of the residence permit
  •  Letter of recommendation or other proof of volunteer work in an international context

Award criteria:

  • Enrolment for a degree programme at the BURG
  • Special commitment in the international context at the BURG
  • very good academic achievements
  • Motivation
  • Social situation

Only applications that are complete and submitted by the deadline can be considered.

The selection committee consists of representatives of both departments, a representative of the Rectorate, an employee of the International Office and the Head of Department for Academic Affairs. After submission of the documents, the decision will be communicated within six weeks.
