Guest auditors at Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle

Persons who are not matriculated can be admitted to certain courses at the BURG as guest auditors even without proof of a university entrance qualification. The respective department decides on the available places in the courses on the basis of the workshop and training capacity. Simultaneous enrolment as a student and guest auditor is not possible. Students are not permitted to take part in university examinations and guest auditorships cannot be credited towards later studies.

How to become a guest auditor

In order to be accepted as a guest auditor at the BURG, a separate application must be submitted. Before submitting the application, approval must be obtained by signature from the lecturer of the respective course. The application must be submitted by 30 September at the latest for the winter semester and by 31 March for the summer semester. The guest auditor status ends at the end of the semester without formal exmatriculation.

Guest auditor for the third stage of life

Guest auditorships are open to all interested parties and are primarily intended for further education. A university entrance qualification (“Abitur”) is not a prerequisite, as guest auditors do not aim to obtain a degree. Since there are no age restrictions, all interested parties are invited to attend a guest auditor course at the BURG.

Guest auditor status for refugees

In order to gain an insight into a German art academy, such as the BURG, to deepen the German language or to find out whether the respective course of study corresponds to the individual interests, a guest auditor status is a welcome introduction. For refugees, a status as a guest auditor at the BURG is free of charge. If you have any questions or are interested, please contact: Teresa Falkenhagen, T.: +49 (0)345 7751-533, e-mail: falkenhagen(at)burg-halle.de

Fees and costs

In accordance with the fee regulations of Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle, the following fees are charged for one semester of guest attendance: 50 euros for participation in theory courses and 250 euros per semester for all other courses and forms of teaching.
